About the Artist

Mark Farr has painted for more than four decades, documenting the places he has lived and loved, and building a following among collectors who respond to his nuanced understanding of light, atmosphere, and the shifting character of place. His work combines a deep sensitivity to impression and effect with a grounded sense of realism, shaped by a distinctive eye and a personal vision.

At the center of his work is Washington, D.C., his home for nearly thirty years, whose quiet beauty and overlooked qualities he has returned to again and again.

Alongside his painting, Mark has spent much of his life in three parallel careers: in diplomacy, the nonprofit sector, and psychotherapy—each informing, in different ways, his perception of people and place.

But ultimately, these paintings are not for those who choose art by résumé, but by response: by whether a work moves them, whether it feels alive in their presence, and whether they wish to live with it. It is to that audience that this work is dedicated.

MarkFarr.art: Our Story

We produce original paintings—many centered on the Washington, D.C. area—alongside a small number of carefully selected limited editions for collectors who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and lasting artistic relevance.

Every work originates from the studio. Nothing is computer-generated; these are traditional paintings by the established fine artist Mark Farr. The collection is intentionally focused: original works, and to maintain accessibility, a limited number of artist-quality giclées, which are museum-grade reproductions designed to faithfully capture the character of the original painting. Select pieces are hand-embellished by the artist, giving each a unique, original quality. All works are hand-signed and produced in strictly limited editions.

Our role is to build a direct bridge between the artist’s studio and the collector’s space, overseeing presentation, production, pricing, and placement with care and precision.
